Classroom

The S.M.I.L.E mentor program at Shake-A-Leg Miami accomplishes team building and self efficacy course work in this Hawaiian style outrigger canoe. Learning never seemed so much fun!

Classroom

Kids in the after school program create Publix supermarket paper bag hats reflecting the water cycle.

Classroom

Anthony Acosta, a graduate student of Shake-A-Leg Miami and accomplished dinghy sailboat racer with Cerebral Palsy, here utilizes an adaptive paint brush as a professional artist during Art By The Bay; a music, art, and film fair produced by kids and volunteers each February to showcase art and nature as an educational medium.

Classroom

Self Esteem abounds as one landlocked urban youth soars during A.S.P.I.R.E. summer camp, an experiential education program at Shake-A-Leg Miami that stands for After-School Programs in Recreation and Education.

Classroom

Turtle recovery and rescue in action by the youngest volunteer at Shake-A-Leg Miami. The sea turtle discovered on Shake-A-Leg docks was successfully returned by Ryan and adult volunteers to its habitat;  ocean side of Biscayne Bay.

To heal broken spirits… To restore a measure of independence to broken bodies… To enable at-risk and disadvantaged kids to empower themselves… To provide a gateway to Biscayne Bay for an otherwise landlocked urban population...

This is the mission of Shake-A-Leg Miami
